  • Facilitated an online workshop exploring culturally sensitive approaches to trauma-informed care for immigrant and refugee populations. The session addressed challenges such as pre-migration violence, forced displacement, and post-migration stressors like discrimination and cultural adjustment.
  • Presented interdisciplinary research examples and practical strategies, focusing on neurobiological, psychological, and sociocultural perspectives to promote inclusive mental health practices.
  • Engaged participants from various countries through interactive activities, including case studies and a lively Q&A discussion, to foster practical understanding of trauma care.
  • Collaborated with SFU’s Institute for Transgenerational Trauma Transfer Research to ensure alignment with current best practices in trauma care. This was the first online iteration of the workshop, enabling participation from SFU branches globally and beyond.
